Healthworks Information

The Healthworks radio series is for health and social development workers. The series consists of thirteen programs full of useful information and ideas to help health and social development workers improve their professional practice for working in their community. The series was developed by Health Communication Resources (www.h-c-r.org) and is based on a post-graduate course at Curtin University in Perth, Australia.

WORKBOOK
The radio series is accompanied by a workbook with spaces for responding to learning activities in the Healthworks radio series. The workbook also contains an evaluation sheet and a glossary of words discussed in the series. Listeners obtain the workbook from the participating radio station.

CERTIFICATE
When listeners complete the workbook, at the end of the series, they will take the workbook to the radio station broadcasting the Healthworks radio series. A Certificate of Participation will be issued. The evaluation sheet, at the back of the workbook, must be completed before a certificate is issued.

TOPICS AND LEARNING FORMAT
Healthworks uses Interactive Instruction Techniques with guided workbook activities and learning sequences, interviews with health professionals and case studies. The English-language narration is at a slow pace, with technical words spelled out, for the convenience of listeners who use English as a second language.

Each episode begins with a review of the previous episode with questions and workbook activities.
