How we apply the big concepts to the local community

Radio will not change the world with on-air messages alone. A key principle is to work with local partners and their programs (both government and non-government and support). So for any sustainable behaviour or social change, on-air programs need to be integrated with on the ground activities.

We applied this principle in Bali recently when we worked with local government, a local non-government organisation and the World Health Organisation to support a project to raise awareness about rabies. Rabies is a significant issue in Bali. Local and national organisations requested Heartline Bali FM to help them design and develop a radio-based message about rabies to support their on-the-ground activities throughout Bali.
